Who we are
Prepaid24 Energy Trading (Pty) Ltd (registration 2025/506706/07) is part of the Prepaid24 group. We are the responsible party for the personal information collected on this website, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Our offices are at 82 Dolweni Avenue, Boskruin, Randburg, 2154 and 16 Sioux Street, Sioux Building, Voorbaai, 6506. For anything relating to your personal information, write to support@prepaid24energy.co.za.
We have appointed and registered an Information Officer with the Information Regulator, who can be reached at the same address.
What we collect
When you complete a form on this site, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, whether your enquiry is residential or commercial, and the content of your query.
When you use our system finder, we collect the details you enter about your property and electricity use so that a suitable system can be recommended.
When you browse the site, we collect limited usage information through cookies and analytics tools, such as the pages you visit and the device you use.
Why we collect it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, to call you back when you ask us to, to recommend an energy system suited to your needs, and to improve this website. Where you've agreed to receive them, we may also use your details to send you marketing communications about our products and services. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Providing this information is voluntary, but if you don't give us what we need — for example your contact details, or the details our system finder asks for — we may not be able to respond to your enquiry or recommend a suitable system.
Marketing communications
We'll only send you marketing messages by email, SMS or WhatsApp if you've consented to receive them, or if you're an existing customer and we're marketing products or services similar to ones you've bought from us. Every marketing message we send identifies us as the sender and tells you how to opt out. You can opt out at any time by replying to the message or writing to support@prepaid24energy.co.za, and we'll keep a record so you don't hear from us again for marketing purposes.
Automated recommendations
Our system finder uses the details you give us about your property and electricity use to generate a suggested system automatically, with no person reviewing it before it's shown to you. You may ask us to explain how a recommendation was reached, or to have it reviewed by a person instead.
Who we share it with
If you choose to proceed with a system assessment or an order, we share your details with Stage Zero (Pty) Ltd, our installation and maintenance partner, so that they can complete the design, installation and support of your system.
We also use trusted service providers for website hosting and analytics. They process information on our behalf under agreements that protect it. Some analytics providers may process information outside South Africa; where this happens, it is protected to a standard consistent with POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry or to maintain our relationship with you, and thereafter only as long as the law requires.
How we protect it
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure and to prevent loss, damage or unauthorised access.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to processing (including for marketing purposes), or withdraw a consent you gave earlier. Write to support@prepaid24energy.co.za and we will respond.
If a recommendation or decision affecting you was made automatically, you may ask us to have it reconsidered by a person.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at enquiries@inforegulator.org.za or www.inforegulator.org.za.
